| About NRAAC
The National Reptile & Amphibian Advisory Council is a working group of people, organizations and businesses producing an annual symposium about the impact of laws, regulations, and restrictions on the ability to keep reptiles and amphibians in the United States. Pet owners, businesses, learning institutions, zoological parks, and research facilities have to understand and comply with an often confusing, contradictory, and often rapidly-changing set of legal restrictions regulated and enforced by a variety of agencies at the local, state, and federal levels, often with no clear concise place to seek answers to questions.
The NRAAC symposium will bring all stakeholders together to discuss the impact of laws, regulations, and restrictions on reptiles and amphibians and the people who work with them. We want to provide a platform to work together to resolve some of the issues and problems with today's and tommorrow's laws and regulations, as well as develop working relationships between the stakeholders. It is hoped that from these workshops we can develop tools and relationships that allow everyone to move forward and develop safe and workable regulations and laws as needed.
Anyone with an interest in reptiles, amphibians and the law can participate in the working group; there is no membership per se, so there is no fee or charge to participate. The majority of NRAAC business takes place in our Facebook group, and we welcome everyone who wishes to participate and offer their input, no matter your affiliation. We consider our Facebook group to be "neutral ground" and ask that your posts be professional and civil. Please refrain from posting derogatory or defamatory messages regarding individuals, businesses, organizations, or agencies.
